Like an eagle’s nest the cabin is located on a marked rocky promontory 150 meters above Lötschenlücke, on the col between Lötschental and Konkordiaplatz, in the midst of the glacial high alpine landscape of the Unesco World Heritage Site Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn. Impressive view to Finsteraarhorn, Aletschhorn and southwestward across more than 100 km to Montblanc. Behind the cabin there are vast névés as far as Äbeni Flue. The cabin lies on the very popular spring ski mountaineering route from Jungfraujoch to Lötschental.
