Starting point for all the summits of the Balfrin range as well as Nadelgrat and high alpine cols. There are Alpine hikes to Klein and Gross Bigerhorn. Since 2023, the access from the tourist destination Grächen no longer crosses the glacier and has therefore become easier and shorter. There is a view from the cabin into the icy world of Riedgletscher and of herds of Alpine ibex (bouquetins) in the environs.
